About Emma

Independent Financial Planner, Emma Hannon, has worked within the financial services industry for almost 20 years in a variety of different roles.

Emma joined Lucas Fettes Financial Planning as part of our acquisition of Waveney McKenna in 2015.

Describe the purpose of your role at Lucas Fettes

“I am one of the financial planning consultants based in the Peterborough office, supporting both private and corporate clients.”

What do you think clients most appreciate about working with a professional financial planner, such as yourself?

“To have the opportunity to talk through their situation and plans before receiving advice that is appropriate to them. Ultimately clients want to feel secure and confident with their decisions.”

Why is it important for clients to start with their objectives?

“If you do not understand your clients and what is important to them, you cannot put advice into context. Everyone’s objectives are unique to them and should be the driver for any recommendations.”

What do you enjoy most about your role?

“Working with my clients. It is always a privilege when a client feels able to discuss their situation and plans.”

What animal best reflects your personality?

“I have been told my Winnie-The-Pooh animal personality type is Kanga. I am a mum!”

Name someone or something that has influenced you?

“My Grandma. If I ever question my decisions or actions, I always ask myself would she be proud of me.”

Describe yourself

“Pragmatic, thoughtful, loyal and resilient.”

What is on your bucket list?

“I do not have a bucket list. I would say, however, that I would never want to turn down an opportunity to make memories and I am quite content to live vicariously through my children.”

What are your interests outside of work?

“I love cooking for my family. It is always nice to see a table of empty plates and happy faces – especially at Christmas! I also enjoy getting out and about to walk and explore, then end the day with a good glass of red wine.”

What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

“Always treat others as you would want to be treated!”
