About Kevin

Director and Independent Financial Planner, Kevin Froggatt, worked for HM Revenue & Customs prior to his move into financial services in 2006.

He has been with Lucas Fettes Financial Planning since 2020, joining as part of Lucas Fettes’ acquisition of Andrew Dickson Limited, and sits on the board.

Describe your approach to financial advice

“My approach is to listen to my clients. It is sometimes too easy to get caught up in the process of things and lose track of what is important to clients. The more I listen, the more I understand my clients’ objectives, resulting in the best advice.”

What do you perceive the main benefits of financial advice to be?

“To be able to understand your current financial position, put in place clear objectives and then create a suitable plan to meet those objectives.”

How do you approach involving younger members of clients’ families in discussions?

“I always encourage clients to involve their family in financial decisions if they are comfortable to do so. Whilst we are creating wealth for clients, typically, one of their underlying objectives is to then preserve wealth and to be able to pass on to children/grandchildren as tax efficiently as possible. I have arranged many family meetings and ultimately these meetings ensure any financial planning is truly intergenerational.”

What do you enjoy most about your role?

“This is an easy one. The people. My clients, my colleagues and my professional connections. I consider myself extremely lucky to have met and formed relationships with so many lovely people.”

What are your passions outside of work?

“Portsmouth Football Club. My father played professionally in the 1950’s for Portsmouth, when they won the Championship (now the Premier League), and he was capped thirteen times for England. Unfortunately, I did not inherit his skill.”

What is your favourite holiday destination?

“I would say anywhere warm with a clear blue sea, sandy beach and great restaurants.”

Do you have a personal mantra?

“I suppose it would be to treat others as I would like to be treated myself.”

What is on your bucket list?

  • “Snorkelling in the Maldives
  • Visiting my friend in Perth, Australia
  • Going to the Ryder Cup in the USA
  • Going to Nashville”

Give an example of something or someone that has influenced you in life

“This is difficult as there are probably a few people, but I suppose the most important was my mum. Mum taught me that hard work does get you places in life and thinking of others along the way gets you even further.”

What is your favourite board game?

“I would have to say Chess, as I like the tactical element of the game.”
