About Josh
Marketing Manager, Josh Cushion, joined Lucas Fettes Financial Planning in 2017. Initially joining as Marketing Co-ordinator, he was promoted to his current role in 2022.
What do you value most about working at Lucas Fettes Financial Planning?
“The working environment and the team. I think culture is important in the workplace and it is vital to have a good relationship with those you work with.”
Do you have a particular highlight that has occured during your time with Lucas Fettes?
“Our successes at the Professional Adviser Awards over the last few years have been great to be a part of. They are a good representation of the hard work that goes on behind the scenes.
For those who are not aware, we have previously won Adviser Firm of the Year for our region twice and once for the entire UK. We were also named as one of the winners of Best Financial Adviser to Work For on two occasions also.
Is there a certain project that stands out for you?
“Probably the development and release of our new company website, in November 2023.
Our existing website had been live for several years and we wanted a refresh. The project gave us an opportunity to deliver an aesthetically pleasing design and to ensure user journeys were simple and logical. It was also important for us to ensure we continue to effectively communicate how we can help prospective clients meet their requirements, whilst also demonstrating our brand’s personality.”
What is a major marketing challenge in the industry?
“Financial planning can provide a lot of value, both financially and from a non-monetary perspective. People often relate to the investment returns or tax savings they could experience but forget to put value on things like peace of mind, expert oversight, as well as personal service and having dedicated points of contact.
The real challenge is communicating all of this effectively for people to connect with and understand.”
What trend or technological advancement do you think will take off soon?
“AI for sure. This is perhaps a bit obvious, given how far it has come along recently, but there is still a lot of potential there for businesses to make use of.
From a marketing perspective, this is likely to be from a copywriting (with caution), integration, and automation perspective.”
Do you have any pets?
“Indeed! My partner and I have a pair of house rabbits named Rupert and Snow. We adopted them from a local animal sanctuary in 2022.
They have both come a long way since then, which has been great to see.”
Do you have a favourite holiday destination or trip you have been on?
“Canada, without a doubt! We spent over two weeks touring and hiking through the national parks in Alberta and British Columbia and could not have had a better time. The views of the mountains and valleys were breath-taking, and it was a very special experience.
I look back at the pictures and videos all the time, but they just do not do the scenery justice! I would highly recommend visiting.”
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
“I find spending time at home quite relaxing. Although, I also enjoy going to gigs, hiking, and watching the occasional Norwich match at Carrow Road.”
What is a quote that resonates with you?
“Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time.”
What music do you like listening to?
“Variations of rock and alternative for the most part. I have also developed a soft-spot for country, after a trip to the USA.”
What is your favourite meal?
“A roast dinner, without a doubt. I have loved them as long as I can remember. Although, as I am now vegan, these do differ somewhat compared to when I was younger.
I have a particular weak spot for roast potatoes and my self-control goes out of the window entirely!”
