In this edition, we spoke with Beverley Lee, from our Norwich office, about an array of topics, ranging from her time with Lucas Fettes Financial Planning to an unlikely movie depiction of her life.

About Beverley
Employee Benefits Consultant, Beverley Lee, has been with Lucas Fettes since 1998, joining as part of the original Norwich consulting team when the office was established. Since then, Beverley has gone on to become a valued member of our team and is one of our longest-serving employees.
What originally drew you to Lucas Fettes?
“I was asked if I would like a new adventure, as part of the team setting up the Norwich office. Of course, I said yes.”
During your time with the company, what has been the biggest change?
“I would have to say that the biggest change has to be parting ways with the general insurance arm of our business, following its sale in 2017.“
Do you have a favourite moment from your tenure?
“Celebrating the company’s 25th anniversary on board the Warrior in Portsmouth’s Historic Dockyard, with all the other employees from across the company.”
What three words would you use to describe the company and why?
“Resilient, reliable, resourceful.
There have been many tough times which have arisen, including stock market crashes, EU directives and changes in Government, to name a few. But we have weathered the storms, remained committed to providing the best advice to our clients, and continued to reinvent and improve our client experience in light of changing expectations and markets.“
What is your longest client relationship?
“21 years, and the relationship is still going strong.”
Do you have a favourite piece of feedback or notable referral?
“Lucas Fettes have been dealing with our Health Insurance Cover for ever and I would highly recommend them to deal with your requirements”.
Do you think there are particular factors which have attributed to our success?
“The philosophy instilled by our founders, Robin Lucas and David Fettes, to always do your best for your client.”
Is there any particular advice that you would you give to new members of our team?
“I would simply tell them to enjoy it.”
Can you think of three things people may not know about you?
“I am Reiki qualified at levels 1 and 2.
I climbed the Gloucester Tree, a 58m giant Karri tree in Western Australia, before they put in safety nets.
My Dad’s cousin was the actress Joan Sims, who was best known for her roles in the ‘Carry on’ films.”
Quote your favourite line from a movie?
““That’ll do pig”. It is from Babe and is said at the end of the film when Babe has given his best.”
Choose a Mr Man or Little Miss character to describe your personality?
“Little Miss Helpful.”
If Hollywood made a movie about your life, who would you like to see cast as you?
“I would have to say Keira Knightley, but only because I have a niece who is also called Keira.”
